THURSDAY
Two major weekend festivals are starting today, beginning with Mix’Arts on “The Main” where Saint-Laurent Boulevard will be closed to traffic all weekend. The street will be combining free shows, a dynamic atmosphere and talented artists and musicians as well as an incredible open-air market with goods and services on major discount from more than 300 merchants. Shopaholics, get ready!

Come one, come all! The Flavours of the Monkland Village Festival is a chance for everyone to experience the flavours the wonderful Monkland strip has to offer. Starting today, four days of fun, entertainment, contests, food trucks, sidewalk sales and more begin. The night will be host to some great concerts, including a Beatles and Eagles cover band. Let’s not forget the doggie parade!

FRIDAY

It’s a one-of-a-kind festival bringing together the world’s leading yoga teachers, top musical acts and DJs, renowned speakers, top chefs and winemakers, and more, all in a setting of breathtaking natural beauty. From dancing under the stars to hiking on peaceful trails, you need it, they will provide it. It’s a wonderful and spiritual celebration in of the most beautiful location in Canada, Mont Tremblant.

In the mood to get down to some hip-hop? Moog Audio + Cabaret Underworld + Neon present a new hip-hop monthly event called “Rapture” aimed at showcasing rap and hip-hop to the city of Montreal in a different way by featuring a more upfront, defined take on the genre and incorporating a strong sense of decor, atmosphere and mood to set the tone for the evening. Be ready, it’s going to be dark, smoky and raw.

SATURDAY
We’re throwing another epic event today in the name of the Mix’Arts on Saint-Laurent! Partnering with our friends from SuWu and SaintWoods again, this time we’re throwing a summer brunch party. Since the sun will be shining hard, the terrasse will be going off with a full bar outside and inside alongside a BBQ cookout with a menu featuring beef burgers, pulled pork sandwiches, grilled corn on the cob, and oysters. The brunch menu will also feature dishes like baked egg on avocado, angel cake pancakes with homemade creme fraiche, and fresh strawberries… and let’s not forget the winning ingredient: endless mimosas all day long! We have our boy DJ Myfrienderic spinning beats from the early AM until the brunch ends to keep you bopping or even dancing around if you wish. The party starts at 11am this Saturday, the 24th, and goes until 5pm.

If being athletic and getting your skate on sounds like a good idea, check out The 24hrs Inline Montreal relay race for teams of up to 10 inline skaters that lasts a total of 24 hours. There is nothing else like it for skaters in North America, and for its 10th edition 24h Inline will bring over one thousand skaters from around the world, of all ages and every level of ability, promising participants a weekend they will never forget. The skating will take place on the famous Gilles-Villeneuve racetrack and will support Peace In Action, a partnership that will bring children to practice sports and not violence. A fun and charitable cause that will test your endurance!

SUNDAY
Montreal’s first-ever South Asian Festival is taking over Laronde today. This is a great day to dip into these eclectic and beautiful cultures while enjoying the sunny weather with friends, full of tasty and unique South Asian food, music, concerts, dance performances and of course all the rides the park has to offer. The festival starts at 11am and goes until 9pm.

Want to travel back in time? Old Montreal’s Pointe-à-Callière takes on the ambience of a marketplace in New France for its 18th Century Public Market today. The event, celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, offers visitors in the area around the Museum a chance to travel back in time featuring merchants, entertainers, craftspeople, farmers, and Natives all in period costumes who will meet at the marketplace to liven up the site with dances, music and more. Foodies will also find products that are typical of the 18th century, like lamb sausage, wild fruit jellies and jams, chocolate truffles and, of course, Pointe-à-Callière’s famous spruce beer. History lives!
