Montreal Weekender: April 20 through 22, 2012

This weekend we have a plethora of notable things for you to submerge yourself in.

For dinner on Friday head to Bottega in Little Italy and feast on their true Neapolitan pizza cooked in their wood-burning oven. Pizza from Naples is not supposed to be crispy, so don’t expect a well-done crust, but if you can embrace it you will love it. You can’t go without trying their famous meatballs. After dinner, make sure you’re at your best-dressed and head to this weekend’s hottest event, Les Printemps du MAC 2012 – Manipulations, an event to help raise awareness of the Montreal Contemporary Art Museum among a new generation of leaders.  Expect upwards of 1000 of Montreal’s most beautiful.  This event takes place at the museum itself and starts at 9pm.

Saturday, wake up and head for brunch at Bagel Etc. on St. Laurent.  Obviously they specialize in bagels, which they incorporate into all of their brunch specials. It’s usually lined up on the weekends, so go early. After brunch, head for a spa afternoon at Strom Spa, a relaxing experience surrounded by all the wonders of nature just five minutes from downtown Montreal. For dinner, head to Greasy Spoon in Outrement on trendy Laurier Street, get a bunch of a friends and make a night out of it, choosing to head across the street to Baldwin’s Barmacie for drinks after or to Chez Serge around the corner for a post playoff hockey night bash.

Sunday, sleep in and then grab lunch at Bistro on the Avenue (if it’s nice you can even sit out on their patio). Then head to Lafontaine Park in the plateau for an afternoon of lounging and Frisbee, then to St. Denis by the end of the late afternoon and grab a quick bite at L’Express. After that, head home and rest of for another long week at work only to be able to look forward to another Montreal weekend at the end of it. We will have some great suggestions for you, so get ready.
