Montreal Set to Host First Ever Cocktail Week

It has finally arrived. After London, New York, New Orleans, Portland and Toronto, it’s our turn to host a cocktail week. Invasion Cocktail’s first edition will be held from May 1st to May 6th, 2014, in various neighbourhoods around our fair city.

Lead by Maryline Demandre and Pierre Olivier Trempe, two influencers from the wine and spirits industry, Invasion Cocktail will bring to light Montreal’s cocktail culture in an urban and trendy setting. “We are currently experiencing great enthusiasm for mixology in Quebec. It’s a profession that requires precision and a strong culinary intuition, and that is what we wish to show festivalgoers throughout the week,” explains Pierre Olivier Trempe, Invasion Cocktail Co-founder.

Invasion Cocktail will be represented by the awesome foursome of Miss Margarita, Major Martini, Captain Old Fashioned and Colonel Collins, encompassing around 21 events over the span of six days in over 20 bars across Old Montreal, Plateau Mont Royal, Mile End, Rosemont, Outremont, Villeray and Griffintown.

If you can make the time and want to truly explore this epic initiative, you can grab the Invasion Cocktail passport at the cost of $20, which will allow you to enjoy the featured cocktail at each participating restaurant and bar at the low cost of $5 each.

A little notable fact: members of the restaurant and bar industry will be invited to attend 11 various seminars hosted and presented by mixology industry ambassadors and influencers from around the world.

Of course an event like this wouldn’t be complete without a Montreal-style closing party hosted at the MadeWithLove national mixology competition’s national finals, which will be held at Auberge St. Gabriel.
