Montreal fashion week kicked off yesterday at the posh Arsenal Art Gallery, and our homegrown, local talents couldn’t make us more proud. Mélissa Nepton stole the show with a collection of light airy, yet feminine silhouettes.
Mélissa Nepton studied at L’École Nationale supérieure des Arts Décoratifs de Paris – a formative year where she presents her first runway show. Her style exudes confidence and sophistication for the modern woman, while offering different silhouettes for all shapes and sizes. In more recent years, her unique pieces have appeared on the red carpet which gave the designer international brand exposure. Not to mention, a much anticipated signature collection for Target. Mélissa Nepton, is definitely on the rise!
Elegant sophistication meets sporty chic is how I would describe the S/S14 Collection. Electric hues like vivid blue, combined with flowing cuts and a mix of patterns and graphic elements, make her collection truly unique. For this show, Mélissa Nepton inspires herself from the current fashion trends of Japan, where traditional and contemporary come together in one brilliant way.
