What is the best part of what you do on a day-to-day basis? The most challenging part?
I absolutely love handling the business as a whole. If I had to pick a favourite though, it would be branding; creating an image. I love giving the brand its character, its values, what it represents, and what it aspires to become.

The fashion industry is so dynamic that the most challenging part is keeping up with what’s going on!

What is one sign that you’ve seen over the years to suggest that your work/life balance is off?
Ah, anybody that knows me can attest that I am a hippie that is simply in love with life. Up until last month, I was working as a full-time employee alongside running my own business. Not a breeze of a schedule, I assure you. When I realized that I was too tired to enjoy life, I decided that some internal spring cleaning was in need.

Where do you see yourself in five years?
I see myself running a successful internationally-renowned brand. However, I want my brand to be just as recognized for its creative designs as it is for the messages it communicates to its clientele, and its contribution to our world. Stay tuned.

What is one major challenge that you’ve had to overcome in your career? How did you overcome it?
I’ve had to overcome fear. It is not easy swimming against the current. I overcame it by following my heart and persevering towards what I believe in.

What does success look like to you? Does Money = Happiness?
Absolutely not. Happiness is truly from within. It is a sense of being that can go a long way and is very contagious.

Success to me is the feeling you get after you have fully dedicated your heart into something, regardless of whether you actually win or lose.

What is the most memorable milestone in your career?
When I quit my job and took a plunge for what I believe in. And here I am today talking to you about it.

Do you have any advice for other young professionals?
Follow your heart. If you believe it, you can achieve it.

Where is your favourite place to wine/dine in your city and why?
Hmm, YUM! Olive & Gourmando, simply because of their unique style (and delicious deserts); Aux Vivres because they speak to my organic palettes; and recently Grinder, for their delicious tartars and vino.

When you’re not working how do you love to spend your “Me” time?
I love my runs up the mountain and quiet walks to my yoga practise. Just being outdoors and enjoying the life around me.

Where is your favourite place to travel? Why?
I’m a citizen of the world, so it’s hard to say, but I do love the Jamaican spirit.

If you had to choose a theme song, what would it be?
Hakuna Matata from The Lion King.

If you weren’t doing what you’re doing, what would you be doing?
A travel critic.

Do you support any charities? If so, which one(s) and why is that important to you?
I don’t support any specific charities. As an individual, I try to give back as often as I can, to whoever and whatever may be in need. As an organization, we have big plans in that realm. Stay tuned.

What to you is notable?
Giving back, most notably by leading a conscious way of living.

BlackBerry, iPhone, Android, or Other?
I didn’t know there is an “other!” Definitely an iPhone girl.
