Midweek Movie Night at SOCIETY

A few weeks ago, we were delighted to be invited by one of the owners of Glowbal Group’s Society for an intimate evening of mid-week movie watching done stylishly right.

After being ushered upstairs to their plush lounge area that had been transformed into a well-appointed theatre (complete with old-fashioned Popcorn machine, surround sound and large screen), we found ourselves seated and greeted by a bevy of treats and goodies. Individual branded flashlights were tucked inside popcorn boxes, meant to discreetly alert our server during showtime should we need to order a craft cocktail or glass of wine (oh yes, we did). Now this is doing the movies in true Hollywood style.

Also on order for Society’s movie night aside from the evening’s flick starring Canada’s own Ryan Gosling (Crazy, Stupid Love) was a selection of cinema-inspired $5-$8 samplings featuring popcorn shrimp, deluxe mini pizza and pasta selections and Kobe meatballs. If you go, we recommend you double-up on an order of the best buffalo wings we’ve noshed on in a while and save room for cotton candy.

Next up on Society’s little ‘big’ screen and just in time for wedding season Bridesmaids is set to play Wednesday, March 14th, starting at 7pm. Be sure to call ahead and try to make a reservation or grab a few friends and head there early. It’s the perfect mid-week excuse to get off your couch and, well, park yourself on someone else’s for a bit.
