Microsoft is Going to Change Your Life With Holograms

Remember when Google Glass was cool?

Us neither.

While Google’s version of wearable tech specs has stuttered out of the gate with issues ranging from negative public perception of its users to awkward integration with its physical surroundings, Microsoft entered the augmented reality conversation by unveiling their game-changing HoloLens headset and platform yesterday.

Merging the digital world with your real world in a truly immersive way other platforms haven’t been able to achieve, HoloLens works both by voice and gestures, is capable of producing 3D models that are print-ready, and is positioned for use in a more socially friendly manner.

You here that, Glassholes?

From work, to play, to teaching, to learning, HoloLens introduces new ways to enhance reality by using digital capabilities most of us haven’t even been able to fathom.

Gizmodo’s Sean Hollister, who took the headset for a test spin, calls it “one of the most amazing and tantalizing experiences [he’s] ever had with a piece of technology.”

That’s a pretty solid review from a source usually associated with snark.

You can see some of its remarkable applications in the video below:
