McDonald’s Really Wants You to Think You Know How it Makes its French Fries

So McDonald’s has been on a bit of a PR bender recently.

Problem is, it seems like they’ve been drinking a little too much of their own Coke, if you know what we mean.

First of all, they send super chipper engineer Grant (formerly of Myth Busters) who already admittedly loves McDonald’s fries (though has apparently stopped eating them) to check out a plant where they’re made.

Let us save you five minutes of fake smiles and not-so-subtle ‘I love these fries’ comments, until good ‘ol engineer Grant is standing in an undisclosed field digging up a potato.

Slow. Clap.

Problem is, it completely ignores how unhealthy the fries still are for you. In case you’ve forgot, here’s a quick run down of the approximate nutritional ‘value’ found in an order of large fries:

Calories – 510
Calories from Fat: 216
Total Fat – 24g
Saturated Fat: 3.5g
Sodium – 290mg
Carbohydrates – 67g

Mmmm, right from momma earth herself.

The best part though? Grant doesn’t just stop here. He goes on to host another three-minute video in which he tells you of the 19 ingredients that make up those golden fries.

After going through all 19 he ends by essentially saying that 18 of them don’t count.

So, you can either watch these two videos or you can just trust Grant.

McDonald’s fries are made from POTATOES AND THAT IS IT FOREVER AND ALWAYS.

Cool?
