The hottest bag of the moment seems near impossible to get. Fashionable celebrities such as Miranda Kerr, Kirsten Dunst and Alessandra Ambrosio have been toting their must-have Mansur Gavriel bucket bags around town over the last few weeks, and it is only the company’s second season of production.
The totes have sleek, interior-coloured resin coating, detachable wallets, adjustable straps and are made from Italian vegetable tanned leather. Designers Rachel Mansur, from Los Angeles, and Floriana Gavriel, from Berlin, met in in 2010, and two days laterstarted to design their now New York-based bag line.
Since adding the current Spring colourways, the demand for the label’s bags has quickly escalated. Desperate trendsetters have pre-ordered and been put on waiting lists to have dibs on theirs, but thankfully Mansur Gavriel will be launching their e-commerce site early this summer to meet these frantic fashionistas’ needs. For those who can’t wait a couple of months, Bergdorf Goodman is conducting an Instagram contest to give away Mansur Gavriel’s latest bucket bag.
The new spring colours include Black Marina, Cammello Orange, Black Black, Black Gold, Black Silver, Black Pewter, Cammello Gold, Bammello Silver and Cammello Pewter. A bucket bag with interior coloir goes for $495; and with metallic interior, $695.
