Mackage Rocks WMCFW and Then Throws a Wild After Party With Notable

A long-established closet staple, Mackage has always been one show not to miss during World MasterCard Fashion Week

And last night was no exception.

After all, we’re Canadian. What we wear over top of our clothes is pretty much just as important as the clothes themselves. And everyone knows that a Mackage coat becomes an outfit within itself, no matter what you have on underneath it.

It’s not only fashionable Canadians who’ve been wearing the brand since it launched in 2000, though. Young, stylish professionals across the globe – including a slew of Hollywood’s most recognizable faces – have also been putting on Mackage whenever possible.

After Toronto’s stylish set filed into the tents at David Pecaut Square, the runway popped with bursts of colour as Elisa Dahan and Eran Elfassy, co-creative directors of Mackage, presented their No Boundaries Spring/Summer 2015 collection of amazing outerwear and handbags.

Though most young professionals tend to opt for classic and versatile when it comes to Mackage winter collections (when a coat is an inevitable daily essential rather than a choice), their Spring/Summer collections allow for a more playful, stand-out-in-a-crowd approach, with youthful designs and bright, bold colours.

The collection is influenced by the pair’s travels, and they turned to some of their favourite world-class cities for the inspiration behind their outerwear and accessories. The result is a collection full of youthful fringe, hooded bombers, biker and moto jackets, and trenches complete with the brand’s signature leather detailing.

Of course, leather also made an appearance in everything from vests to fringe wrap skirts and pants. It was all coupled with Mackage’s signature mixture of textures, as seen throughout the collection, along with a focus on the ability to layer – a must for both the unpredictable Canadian spring and for the world traveller.

After a meal or round or two (or three) of cocktails, the same pretty people who graced the seats of the runway were joined by a few hundred of the city’s other connected young professionals for the MackagexNotable after-party at EFS

The exclusive guest list resulted in an impeccably dressed assemblage of event circuit regulars, entertainment and media figures, models, fashion bloggers, and, of course, the Mackage team as they toasted the success of the show.

Sponsored by Maybelline New York, the party didn’t fail to deliver the “it factor.” Flowing vodka, the sounds of DJ Chelsea Leyland from NYC, a photo booth experience that was far from your typical wedding set-up, neon air-brush tattoos, and a well-frequented  “Arcade Claw” machine with great premium prizes inside from Mackage all combined to create an unforgettable evening.

As promised, the party started late (as in, 11:30pm) and ended early (as in 4am).

And yes, we worked from home the next day…
