Loding Opens Second North American Location in First Canadian Place

There’s a new player on the Toronto men’s retail scene.

Parisian menswear boutique Loding has arrived in Canada, marking just its second North American location.

Taking over prime retail real estate in First Canadian Place just in time for the holidays (and holiday parties), the renowned boutique offers high-quality, hand-made shoes (specializing in Goodyear shoes), polo shirts, 100 per cent cashmere sweaters, and a range of accessories –ties, belts, etc. – for the style-conscious gentleman.

For the first time, Loding moves away from its green and yellow décor to showcase a sleek and sophisticated, yet approachable new design.  The 1,000 square foot space features a black and white colour scheme with leather accents and is made complete with a polishing station to make sure the shine on those shoes lasts. Clients are offered three complimentary polishes with the purchase of a pair of shoes.

And the best part? It’s all at fixed prices.

Founded in 1998 by Michel Gozlan, the Loding house is based on the concept of offering high-quality luxury at affordable(ish) prices. That’s why all of their prices are fixed and why the company doesn’t do promotions or sales. Loding also offers the idea of “one price by type of article,” meaning, all dress shoes cost a fixed price across the board, as do the ties, scarfs, belts, and just about everything else.

The concept quickly caught on, and over the past 15 years, the Loding brand has grown to over 68 stores. In February 2012, Loding was designated as “One of the most profitable brands to franchise” by French Magazine.

Of course, affordable prices don’t mean your shopping experience is compromised. The stores all reflect a sophisticated environment and the new Toronto store is the definition of modern and sleek.

So let us do the math for you: high quality items + single, controlled prices + a luxurious environment = your new favourite store.

You’re welcome.
