Last Night We Took Happy Hour to Bolder Heights

If you weren’t at our #Graffignalivebold event last night, we apologize for your FOMO.

Some of the city’s finest young professionals hit Mascot Gardens – Mercer Street’s latest addition – after work for a happy hour full of newer and bolder heights.
Seated on picnic tables on the sun kissed terrace, the crowd received a summer course in the art of sipping, sniffing, and swirling wine. But not just any wine – Graffigna wine (aka: what you’ll be sipping all summer). On the off chance that you don’t know by now, Graffigna is all about living life to the fullest – both professionally and personally.

And that’s exactly what we did last night.

The crowd was walked through five different Graffigna wines by Federico Lleonart, Graffigna’s global wine ambassador, who was in town fresh from the vineyards in Argentina. Graffigna is one of the first wineries in Argentina and is known around the world for its stellar reds and whites.
And if you didn’t know just how stellar the wine was beforehand, you definitely did after tasting Graffigna’s Centenario Pinot Grigio, Centenario Shiraz, Centenario Malbec, Elevation Red Blend, and the Grand Reserve Malbec.

Lleonart walked us through the art of wine tasting – everything from assessing the colour of the wine (the key here is to hold the wine against a white piece of paper), to sniffing (according to Lleonart, 80 per cent of the pleasure in wine comes from the smell), swirling to release aromas, and – the best part – sipping.
Though all the wines were delicious in their own way, a unanimous favourite seemed to be the Centenario Malbec.

After the tasting, guests soaked up the wine with offerings from the Food Dudes – which included a very Instagram-worthy spread of flatbread, charcuterie, cheese, fruit, and some sweet treats.
By the time the sun was setting, the terrace was packed with a few hundred young professionals from all industries who arrived for the party portion of the evening and mixed and mingled (wine in hand, of course) for several more hours, drawing inspiration from their glasses to continue living their lives to the fullest.
