The plus-sized model movement keeps gaining some major traction.
Today, plus-size designer Lane Bryant launched a campaign for her Cacique Intimates line. In a not-so-discreet jab against Victoria’s Secret and its infamous Angels, front and centre of the campaign is the hashtag #ImNoAngel.
The idea behind the campaign is that “Sexy is defined by every woman, not just some.”
Take that Lily, Adriana, and Behati.
Thankfully, a growing number of plus-sized models are embracing the beginning of a movement to redefine beauty and sex appeal.
Featured in the ad are some of the world’s most recognizable faces, like Candice Huffine, Marquita Pring, and Ashley Graham, who became the first plus-size model to have a campaign in Sports Illustrated.
All don sexy, lacy separates, which are available in size 14-28.
The dramatic black and white video – which was released this morning – features scantily clad models who reveal their definition of sexy and what makes them feel most confident. It was shot by fashion photographer Cass Bird and rolled out in Manhattan via a celebrity bus ride.
The campaign is also gaining quick momentum on social media, and the models are encouraging people from around the world to share their own definitions of sexy.
We suspect (and hope) it won’t take long before the term “plus-sized” is banned all together.
