Calling all spa slaves (you know who you are)! Toronto’s immersive health-by-water spa, Body Blitz, has opened the doors of its second location in the city’s east end at 497 King Street East. Women are invited to experience the unique water circuit, a five-part relay of relaxation that starts with a warm Dead Sea salt pool, and rotate through an aromatherapy steam room, a cold plunge pool, an infrared sauna, and a hot Epsom salt pool.
Co-dreamed and created by sister-entrepreneurs Laura and Rena Polley, this Blitz puts a modern twist on the ancient restorative water practices made popular at their original Adelaide St. West location. Since its introduction in 2005, downtown divas have made BB’s water circuit (now entirely bromine-free) and therapeutic spa services part of their rejuvenation ritual.
“Our new location, Body Blitz East, is uniquely designed within 22,000 square feet of industrial space, made with a retro-1970s feel in five split-levels. The entire second floor will be reserved exclusively for 20 treatment rooms designed for massages, face and body treatments,” says CEO Laura Polley. “The success and popularity of our first location propelled us to expand our brand with a second spa; giving women the convenience of getting Blitz’d on both sides of the city.”
You heard it…this is the place to unwind after a long day, celebrate a birthday party or bridal/baby shower, catch up with girlfriends, or have yourself some solid mother-daughter bonding time. It’s all encouraged as part of the signature restorative water practice that has proven to de-stress and detoxify the body and mind.
