Kurt Cobain Will Release a Solo Album 21 Years After His Death

Kurt Cobain will be releasing new music from the grave. Kind of.

According to Brett Morgen, who directed the widely acclaimed Montage of Heck documentary about Kurt Cobain’s life, “We’re going to be putting out an amazing album this summer. It’s not a Nirvana album, it’s just Kurt and you’re going to hear him do things you never expected to come out of him.”

The solo album will contain a collection of previously unheard recordings from the Nirvana singer, which Morgen discovered while combing through hundreds of hours of audio in producing his film.

Morgen added that the album will make people feel like they’re hanging out with Cobain on a hot summer day in Olympia, Washington.

For more experiences like that, you can also rent Cobain’s former L.A. apartment on Airbnb.
