WORK

1. Describe what you do in less than 140 characters. Go.
I own and operate the gym F45 Training in Liberty Village.

2. What was the Inspiration for your career route?
I’ve always wanted to own my own business. Through a great friend I met during travelling and time living in Australia, I had the opportunity to open the first F45 Training in Canada with my best friend. I jumped at that opportunity.

3. What is the most memorable milestone in your career so far?
The day we opened our gym and had our first member sign up.

4. Where do you see yourself in 5 years, 10 years, 20 years?
I never like to plan too far ahead in the future because if I had, I might never have experienced some of the things I’ve experienced or seen some of the things I’ve seen. And it led me to open F45, which wasn’t on my mind five years ago.

5. Do you have any advice for other young professionals?
Take the risk, make sure you do something that makes you happy. And it’s true: if you’re doing something that makes you happy, it never feels like work.

6. Do you support any charities? If so, which one(s) and why is it (or they) important to you?
We’ve ran a food drive for Eva’s House in Toronto and are working on future initiatives through the gym. It’s important to me that we give back to this city as it’s given so much to us.

7. What is one major challenge that you’ve had to overcome in your career? How did you overcome it?
I’d say one major challenge is giving up a secure pay check to go into business with a friend, let alone your best friend. We’ve overcome it by defining our roles, setting egos aside, putting our business/members first, and having a heaps of fun at the same time.

8. What does the word notable mean to you?
To have made a positive impact and stand out.

PLAY

1. Where is your favourite place to wine/dine in your city and wine?
I’m not too particular on food, but give me a good drink in a dive bar with good music and I’m a happy man.

2. What’s the most visited website on your Internet browser? The most played song on your phone?
F45training.ca. You should check it out. And for most played song, anything and everything by Dave Hause and Brian Fallon.

3. Who’s one person you think everyone should be following on social media?
Um….Lonely Planet Traveller.

4. What’s your favourite country to visit and why? And what’s the next one you plan on travelling to?
Peru was my favourite – hiking Machu Pichu was unreal. Next up is cage diving with Great White Sharks off the coast of South Africa.

5. What gives you the greatest FOMO?
I didn’t know what FOMO was so I guess I missed out on that.

6. What’s your guiltiest pleasure?
I love the Real World.

7. What’s something you wish you didn’t spend so much money on? What’s something you wish you spent more money on?
Pizza. And pizza.

8. And finally, what does success look like to you? Work, play, or otherwise…
To live the life you want to live and have a lot of fun doing it.
