Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution Day Comes to Montreal

Why should you care, you ask? Let’s give you a little breakdown: Food Revolution is a global movement that allows people who love food to come together to share information, talents and resources and also to pass on their knowledge and highlight the world’s food issues. All around the globe, people work together to make a difference. The Food Revolution is about connecting with your community in schools, restaurants and local businesses to inspire change in people’s food habits and to promote the mission for better food and education for everyone. Got your attention now?

English celebrity chef, restaurateur and media personality Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution Day is coming to Montreal via The Real Food Market, benefiting  La Tablée des Chefs. It is a chance for Montrealers to taste “real food” made from fresh, all-natural ingredients. Nothing processed or artificial – just like we like it.

So here is how Montreal is partaking in this amazing cause. The Real Food Market, sponsored by  Macchi Inc. and  Molson Coors, will feature local restaurants and specialty boutiques from Montreal, including Barbounya/Restaurant Su, Lufa Farms, La Bête á Pain, Preservation Society, Restaurant Renoir, Glow Cleanse, Les Petit Pots & Co., Le Kitchen and more this Friday at La Salle Mandoline (Jean-Talon Market, 2nd floor, 7070 Henri-Julien Ave).

The general public is invited to visit the market for a $20 donation. Each guest will be given five food vouchers and additional bites can be purchased for $1 to $5 each. Tickets are available for purchase here. 60 VIP tickets holders will experience an exclusive live cooking demonstration with chef Martin Juneau of Pastaga where one lucky auction winner will go head-to-head in the Live Cooking Challenge against chef Martin and Stefano Faita. For a chance to compete, aspiring chefs can place their bid online  here. On Food Revolution Day, the winner and the chefs will get into the kitchen to cook up a mystery meal to be judged by Aimee Wimbush-Bourque of Simple Bites, Dustin Gilman,  Food Guy Montreal, and Catherine Lefebvre,  nutritionist and author of the cookbook Les Carnivores infidèles.

All proceeds will go towards La Table Des Chefs.
