Jaclyn Genovese: What I’m Wearing Today

Fighting the cold should come naturally for us Canadians, but finding new inspiration on how to look cool when the temperatures drop is crucial when fall arrives. Inspired by some of fall's latest trends, here are some of my favourite fall looks from last week

Fighting the cold should come naturally for us Canadians, but finding new inspiration on how to look cool when the temperatures drop is crucial when fall arrives. Inspired by some of fall’s latest trends, here are some of my favourite fall looks from last week.

What I’m Wearing Today: Look 1
It doesn’t get more cozy and comfortable than a warm, fuzzy knit and a baggy boyfriend jean on a crisp fall day, but adding a chic ponytail, a bright lip and powerful heel turns this look from homely to refined.

Mink Pink, fuzzy knit $125
Destroyed, baggy jean $115
Jeffrey Campbell, Don’t Even shoe $165

What I’m Wearing Today: Look 2
Pairing a sleek blazer and swanky pumps with one of this season’s hottest trends, the leather sweat pant (thanks Kanye!), transforms this look from weekend cool to 9-to-5 chic.

Glamorous, leather sweats $65
Wildfox, She Loves You tee $99
Dress Room, satin blazer, $185
Jeffrey Campbell, bullet pump $165

What I’m Wearing Today: Look 3
The velvet trend has resurrected and taken over runways, streets and stores. Adding zipper detailing and knee slits adds an edgy aspect to this more traditional trend. Matching these elaborate leggings with a more conservative, simple knit and a classic pump shifts the ensemble from grungy Goth to clean and contemporary.

UNIF, Ish Velvet leggings $99
Ssong, charcoal knit $99
Jeffrey Campbell, bullet pump $165
