Jaclyn Genovese: What I’m Wearing at Toronto Fashion Week

Cold, rainy days didn't stop Jaclyn Genovese, Owner of Toronto boutique jacflash, from impressing outside the tents during last week's World MasterCard Fashion Week. Today she shows us what she wore every day during the festivities

Jaclyn Genovese, Owner of Toronto boutique jacflash, shows us what she wore every day during World MasterCard Fashion Week SS14.

What I’m wearing: Fashion Week Day 1
Today’s chillier temperatures encouraged me to layer up. I paired my Style Stalker, Baller jacket with a cropped sweater and a high-waisted drawstring pant. I love the laid-back new trend of wearing a jacket over the shoulders instead of the more constricting approach of wearing it on and done up. To add a little glam to my sportier ensemble, I wore a handmade Cara Cheung tangled chain necklace and Jeffrey Campbell Solitaire pumps. All items are available at www.jacflash.net.

Style Stalker, Baller Coat $360
Travis Taddeo, Archie Sweater $135
Unseen, Drawstring Pants $95
Cara Cheung, Tangled Chain Necklace $160
Jeffrey Campbell, Black Solitaire shoe $145

What I’m Wearing: Fashion Week Day 2
My trend of choice this fall is the pencil skirt. It is such a versatile piece and a must-have for every YP’s wardrobe. To add some edge to this more conservative ensemble, I matched it with a Capulet Moto Jacket and a floppy hat. My favourite part about this jacket is the open back and quilted arm detailing. Adding a simple and classic heel balances the patterns in the skirt and the special features on the jacket. All items are available at www.jacflash.net.

Capulet, Cropped Leather Moto Jacket $585
Unseen, Sheer White Blouse $85
Coco Shon, Snake Pattern Pencil Skirt $95
Floppy Hat $65
Jeffrey Campbell, Black Solitaire shoe $145

What I’m Wearing: Fashion Week Day 3
Rain, rain, go away. To deal with the precipitation today, I opted for a long, over-sized trench with a pair of cozy, destroyed boyfriend jeans. Donning these metal-capped pumps and an engineer cap creates chicness to a more casual look and brings out a little rock ‘n roll. All items are available at www.jacflash.net.

Mix, Long Trench $275
Unseen, Sheer White Blouse $85
Dressroom, Destroyed Boyfriend Jean $115
Jeffrey Campbell, Don’t Even Shoe $165
Fringe Purse $115
Black Cap $65

What I’m Wearing: Fashion Week Day 4
One of spring’s biggest trends has more moderately made its way into fall. The crop top is back. To spice up a more sophisticated trouser and jacket, I added this cropped leather bustier. The bold contrast of this black and white ensemble becomes even more elegant and subdued when combined with a softening gray. All items are available at www.jacflash.net.

Mix, White Blazer $165
Unseen, Leather Bustier $115
Coco Shon, Dress Pant $135
Cara Cheung, Tangled Chain Necklace $160
Jeffrey Campbell, Don’t Even Shoe $165
Fringe Purse $115
