It is Now MUCH Easier to Navigate The PATH Thanks to this 3D Map

The PATH boasts over 30 kilometers of shopping, entertainment, and services.

And, according to the Guinness Book of World Records, it’s the largest underground shopping network in the world.

Employing over 5000 people, at least 200,000 commuters use the PATH on any given business day.

It should be a godsend for tourists – connecting the CN Tower, Hockey Hall of Fame, Air Canada Centre, Rogers Centre, and more – if only tourists could figure out how these landmarks are all connected once they step inside it.

As useful as it is to have an underground network of stores to keep you from being outside throughout the frozen winter months, when you have some place to be – getting lost in the PATH is not all that desirable.

Even the most seasoned Torontonian has had that debate in their head on whether avoiding the cold is even worth the potential of getting lost within its confusing underground network. Until you have the map memorized in your head, you will continue to get lost in its system. And even once you do memorize it, it’ll still take a few tries before you stop taking the wrong turn.

Lucky for us, the brilliant mind of graphic artist William Davis created the 3D map we’ve all been waiting for.
While existing maps are helpful, the addition of 3D proportions makes it considerably easier to understand how the whole system is connected.

Bookmark the zoomable version on the map on your phone, so next time you’re down there you can quickly pull it up and avoid the frustration of walking in circles until you give up and take the sidewalk.
