Do you know this guy?
Because Toronto police believe that this friendly-looking fella is the fan who threw a beer can at Orioles player Hyun Soo Kim during last night’s wild-card game at the Rogers Centre.
The can sailed right by Kim as he was about to catch a fly ball near the fence.
The widely condemned incident set off a social media firestorm and has turned a city full of baseball fans into amateur sleuths.
“I hope the moron who threw the beer can is enjoying being the most pathetic person in Canada today,” tweeted one person, according to the Toronto Star.
“Tossing beer cans and yelling racial slurs is abhorrent in any instance. The vast majority of Jays/sports fans/ Canadians aren’t like that,” wrote another person.
The Blue Jays even released a statement today, offering their “sincere apologies and regrets to the entire Baltimore Orioles organization, its managers and players, as well as Major League Baseball for this embarrassing incident.”
If it is this guy who threw the can, we sure hope having an entire city turn against him has made him learn his lesson.
