Is an Oasis Reunion on the horizon?

In a recent interview with George Stroumboulopoulos on his CBC show The Hour, former Oasis band member Liam Gallagher mentioned the possibility of a future reunion with presently estranged brother Noel and the rest of the band.

When questioned about a possible Oasis reunion, Liam replied “I’m definitely up – well, Noel is the one that started this kind of thing. But I’m definitely up for doing a tour. I mean, as long…I don’t think me ‘n’ him’ll ever be in a full-on band again, you know what I mean? That’s done, I think. But Noel was mentioning like a tour for the 2015 (What’s the Story) Morning Glory?, and I think by then, three years, I will have grown up a bit and so will he.”

The 2015 reunion tour would mark the band’s 20th anniversary of their best-selling album release (What’s the Story) Morning Glory?

In 2009, Noel announced his departure from the band after a backstage altercation with Liam before their appearance at the Rock en Seine festival in Paris. Although the band carried on without Noel under the new name Beady Eye. Noel continued as a solo artist with his debut album Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, but neither brother gathered the success they had together.

We’re definitely down with the possibility of an Oasis reunion, if only for the nostalgia. (Can you believe it’s been almost 20 years since the band’s first album, Definitely Maybe?) Here’s hoping the brothers’ tumultuous relationship finds a common ground in the next four or so years…
