Toronto Millennials Can Now Have Wine Delivered In One Hour

Ronny Gura is the Vice President of Operations behind Toronto’s newest and speediest online grocery delivery service, Instabuggy. Instabuggy delivers groceries, wine and from a variety of small supermarkets, mid-range stores, and big retailers (that includes the LCBO) to customers’ doors in as little as one hour.

Who are you and what do you do?
I’m just a young entrepreneur seeking great success in life. I’m the Vice President of Operations for Instabuggy, a grocery and alcohol delivery service based in Toronto, Mississauga, and the surrounding GTA (soon expanding to Ottawa).

Do you know where you got your drive from?
It definitely comes from playing sports at a young age, I developed a very competitive personality. I love to be on the move.

How do you stay self-motivated?
On our busiest days — when I’m driving as far as The Beaches, Mississauga, or north to King City — I keep in mind the purpose of our company, and think about how it benefits others. Instabuggy is all about making life simpler for time-strapped Canadians; something everyone can relate to.

What would you say is your preferred way to network?
I like to keep it old school, face to face is the most meaningful form of communication for me.

How would you describe your process for deepening relationships?
It’s all about developing trust, having good communication, and maintaining your morals. As long as you can demonstrate those mentioned, you can deepen a relationship.

What are your preferred tools for keeping organized?
Hands down, my iPhone. Running the team for an on-demand business means that I’m on a continuous time-crunch. Being responsible for juggling new orders every hour, from locations all over the city, my iPhone makes my job so much easier by helping me stay organized.

What is your favourite way to market your product or services?
Facebook and Instagram are my favourite ways to market our services. For obvious reasons, social media is the best way to speak directly to our current customers. Though, you might be surprised how effective word of mouth is in terms of reaching new people.

Who has been your mentor in helping you find success?
I have two mentors, each for a different reason. My dad, and Instabuggy’s founder, Julian Gleizer.

What social issue does your organization raise funds and/or awareness for?
Raising funds and awareness for homelessness, particularly homeless youth, is a social issue that Instabuggy is very passionate about. This is why we support Youth Without Shelter, an emergency residence and care program that does amazing work to serve 1000+ homeless youth across the GTA.

How and where do you continue to learn?
Everyday at work, I’m always learning on the job. This is the benefit (and the challenge) to running an on-demand business. We deliver groceries from stores all over the city to our customers’ doors in as little as an hour, so we’re striving to make our quick service even more efficient.

Next, we are excited to learn about what decisions you make to keep balanced and have fun.

Do you have a fitness ritual that you live by?
You could say that going to the gym everyday (for at least an hour and a half) is the fitness ritual that I live by. I also stay active by participating in a variety of sports.

How do you feed your soul?
Constantly staying active is what motivates me. Playing sports, going to the gym, and running all over the city as a part of my job is what seriously feeds my soul.

How would you describe the eating ritual that makes you feel most powerful?
I try to stay on a rigorous diet, but it’s difficult when you have a soft spot for pizza…

Everything fitness related, and everything e-commerce.

What lifestyle brand would you say shares your values most?
Fitbit. Its where technology meets fitness, I love that it encourages activity.

I can’t choose; its between hockey and basketball.

Where is your favourite place to unwind?
As if you couldn’t already guess — the gym.
