Innovators Vie for a Million Dollars to Make Canada as Healthy as Possible

CBC. Canadian Tire. The Government of Canada. LIFT Philanthropy Partners.

Seriously – when the government is involved, you know it’s a big deal.

These powerhouse players have all come together with a completely different approach to ensure they’re contributing to a healthier Canada.

With the help of feedback from citizens from coast to coast, not only can you tune in to watch it all unfold, you also have a say in shaping our country’s future.

The Play Exchange will air tonight as a CBC special at 7pm – an interactive show where six Canadian innovators have made the final cut, gone through a mentorship with Vancouver-based LIFT Philanthropy Partners, and are ready to share their ideas on how we can all live a healthier life.

Think of it as Dragon’s Den meets American Idol – only, you know, about a subject that actually matters.

After The Play Exchange airs, Canadians will have one week to vote online for three of the projects presented – or vote three times for their favourite.

By voting, you’ll be sharing your feedback directly with the type of Canadians who have the power to actually make change in our country, like, say, Rodney Ghali, the Director General of the Public Health Agency of Canada.

The lucky finalist with the winning idea will be announced at the end of January and receive up to $1,000,000 from the Government of Canada to put their plans into action.

Talk about ‘Let’s Make a Deal’.

Reaching out to real people doing amazing things in their communities and giving them a chance to ignite a change for a healthier future – now that’s notable.
