Yes it happened.
With the recent wave of retailers closing in Canada including Target, Mexx Canada, Smart Set, and Boutique Jacob among others, it almost comes as no surprise that Parasuco was next on the list.
We have to give it to them, they fought long, hard, slim fitted, and boot cut to stay around.
The brand will close all seven stores in Canada…including their gorgeous downtown Montreal location; a true piece of prime and luxurious real estate.
Of course with news like this, layoffs are already occurring and roughly 80 employees have already been cut while 70 more will only have a job until the close is finished.
But Parasuco isn’t all dead.
The brand will continue selling directly to customers through its online sales platform (www.parasuco.com) and pursue more growth with its wholesale and private label divisions.
Parasuco Jeans Inc. is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year and their claim to fame came with their acid wash and stretch denim.
Not a great way to celebrate a milestone, but as they say, onto bigger and better things…
