Every Monday, we will feature the latest and greatest male and female YP must have. Over Easter weekend, the brightly coloured jeans seen around the streets on young professional male and females inspired us. When coloured jeans first hit the runways and pages in magazines, many YPs wondered if they would be able to pull them off without looking like a clown. Well, it looks like we are over that initial stage fright because YPs just can’t get enough. Here are some of our favourites…
For the ladies, we love:
Gap 1969 Sexy Boyfriend Jeans in Lemon Drop
We saw a lady friend of ours sporting these this weekend and fell in love. For a pant so seasonal, it does not always make sense to splurge on a pair of designer jeans, especially when they fit as well as these. These jeans are made with mind-weight premium stretch denim, made from 70% cotton, 29% polyester, and 1% spandex. Perfect for patio Sunday brunches, we love the worn-in colour and the low-rise pants are washed down for extra softness. The pants feature button closure, a zip fly and five-pocket styling. The denim fits relaxed through the hip and thigh, with a slim and tapered leg opening. The pants are available in Fuchsia and Surf Pipe Blue as well, but we love the soft, not obnoxious yellow of the Lemon Drop hue.
For the men, we love:
Citizens of Humanity Lux Core Fire Orange
We first saw these jeans at the Harry Rosen Spring 2012 Preview when they caught our eye. Always a trusted brand in denim for both the guys and ladies, these jeans are great for spring, summer and early fall. We like the fact that these jeans are not too skinny fitting because the bright colour and the skinny fit may be a little too much for those less risk-taking young professional males. This pair of jeans features a relaxed, easygoing straight leg cut and flattering fit, with five pockets and a leather logo patch at the back.
Price: $235.00 (at Harry Rosen)
