Hawaii Meets California at Toronto’s Hottest New Poké Spot

Just as the last of the summer weather sizzles its way out, Toronto’s finest foodies will be found getting a taste of Hawaii complete with a cool California vibe.

Enter Calii Love, King West’s newest hotspot for those seeking an authentic Poké fix.

And no, it has nothing to do with the game (thank God). For those in the dark, Poké is a raw fish salad (hey, not everyone knows).

Taking over the prime real estate at 367 King, the soon-to-open Calii Love will offer healthy grab-and-go options like smoothies and acai bowls that could very well become your latest addiction.

Chef Joe Friday comes with experience in some of Hawaii’s finest kitchens, including Nobu Waikiki & Hilton Hawaii Village.

He relies on colourful, sustainable, locally sourced ingredients.

The spot also has a killer coffee program to please the caffeine snobs, offering direct-trade coffee from Brazil, Colombia, and Hawaii in the mornings, followed by Hawaiian staples into the late afternoon.

Pretty much half of Hollywood has already experienced the spot for themselves during this year’s TIFF activation Deadline Hollywood.

Famous faces to grace its grounds included Joseph Gordon Levitt (find out what went down at his cast party here), Oliver Stone, Dakota Fanning, Jason Sudeikis, Anne Hathaway, Jane Lynch, Liev Schreiber, Amy Adams, Natalie Portman, Felicity Jones and Gerard Butler, to name a few.

Given the spot’s California influences and chill, West Coast vibe, they probably felt right at home.
