Tell us who you are and what you do in less than 150 characters:
My name is Shane Vitaly Foran. I am a Toronto-based lifestyle fashion designer, brand inventor, entrepreneur, and CEO.
Tell us about something you wish you knew when you first started your career…
When I first started my career, I wish I knew that every time I thought the world was coming to an end, I was wrong. Sure, it might have motivated me to work tirelessly, but it also expended enormous amounts of energy. I suppose that is wisdom that has to be learned with time, but I can say that anxiety from over-worrying likely took years off of my life (worth it – not sure I’ve learned anything come to think of it). Today, I put faith in the abilities of my team and myself to solve any problem we face, but I won’t sit here and tell you I don’t lose my cool from time to time (still worth it).
What’s the biggest key to your morning routine? How does the OneBlade make it more convenient?
The most important part of my morning routine is a shower. No shower, no brain – I’ll be a complete zombie. The OneBlade is great because I can quickly clean up any overgrown scruff before jumping into my energizing sanctuary.
Why is personal grooming important to you?
Personal grooming was actually the first step I took towards fashion. When I was a kid, I loved having the most outrageous hair possible – mohawks, tri-hawks (yeah, that’s a thing), multi-coloured liberty spikes, etc. As I got older, I cleaned up and refined my look, but that passion for expressing myself with grooming carried forward. Today I have a relatively clean hairstyle with a contemporary spin on it, but it perfectly represents where I’m at today.
How do you dress for success?
Skinny jeans, a t-shirt, good shoes or boots, a leather jacket, a few staple accessories, and a solid haircut are how I dress for success. I’d say that style found me in high-school, and even when I tried to play around with other looks from time to time, I ended up right back at where I am today. I will say though that I’ve never believed in cheaping out on those things. If you’re going to live in that look, from casual to business meetings, own it and do it right.
How would you describe your individual look/style and how do you customize/tailor your look?
See above. My look is accented by my accessories as everything else I wear tends to be clean with the exception of some distressing here and there. I’ve never believed in big, flashy logos, nor have I felt the need to dress particularly fancy.
Why is looking the part important in your industry?
Being from a lifestyle fashion background, I think the “part” is really just what makes the most sense for our day-to-day. I think that our day-to-day look is inspired by the things and people around us that we respect most. We’re action sports enthusiasts, concertgoers, travellers, partyers, and doers.

Never underestimate the value of staples – they’ll make your life infinitely easier every morning.
What’s one thing you wish you had more time for?
These days I wish I had a little more time for product design and ideation (but I’ll always want more time for that). With a growing company, it often becomes difficult to spend time on something until it becomes absolutely critical. The excitement that comes from the next big idea is unbeatable though.
