Canadian Photographer’s Short Film Shows Terrifying Force of the Great Lakes

Your perception of the Great Lakes is about to change.

In late 2015, Canadian photographer Dave Sandford ventured out into the Great Lakes to capture the waves. But not just any waves – winds that could qualify as category 1 hurricanes produced liquid mountains as great as 30 feet tall.

While we’ve featured his photos before, video footage from Sandford’s escapade into the icy cold water and fierce winds of Lake Erie was recently released by CNN’s Great Big Story video network in partnership with The Weather Network.
