Google Could Soon Be Your Next Cell Phone Provider

At this point, we should probably just let Google run everything.

Look, we all know that eventually Google will morph into some Skynet-like machine overlord that runs the world and we’ll have to turn to Arnold for help (he’ll be roughly 96 at the time). For now, however, we should be enjoying all the great stuff Google is bringing us.

The driverless cars, the solar powered drones, or even their side project that made booking flights and travel easier than any other website, are all examples of Google technical prowess.

But now Google wants to take over your wireless plan and free us from the phone companies.

Sundar Pichai, senior VP at Google announced on stage at the Mobile World Congress that Google is working on it’s own wireless service.

The setup would allow Google to sell its own cellular plans to customers, plans they could control and define. Google says the project will be exploratory and hopes it will allow them to one day expand into a global wireless network contributor.

One thing is for sure, if Google is half as good on the phone as they are with email, we’re all going to be a lot happier.
