GoDaddy is a huge supporter of small business and entrepreneurial endeavours in Canada. As the world’s largest cloud platform dedicated to small, independent ventures it has over 17 million customers worldwide and more than 72 million domain names under management. And now, GoDaddy could be a big contributor to your small business in more ways than one.

You could benefit from $2,500 in seed money and a $250 credit for GoDaddy services that will allow you to further develop your business with new tools and services to help increase your marketing potential online.

“GoDaddy’s mission is to support small business owners and entrepreneurs as they pursue their own life fulfilling ventures,” said Jill Schoolenberg, Vice President of GoDaddy Canada. “For the second time, we’re pleased to partner with Canadian entrepreneurs to share their success stories and help inspire other business owners by encouraging them to enter the Life Fulfilling Venture Contest.”

One of the entrepreneurs GoDaddy is partnering with to share their tips and tricks for success is tech expert Marc Saltzman. Saltzman has spent over 20 years pursuing his passion for technology by working in the industry as a journalist, author, public speaker and radio host. However, until recently Saltzman had never taken the plunge to create his own website. This past summer Marc built his website on the GoDaddy Website Builder platform.

“As a tech expert, it’s crazy to think that I didn’t have my own website,” Saltzman said. “I desperately needed a place where people could learn about what I do. Creating a website using GoDaddy Website Builder was so easy, I was able to build it in under an hour. After seeing the benefits of having a website for my personal brand, and how easy it was, I’m so excited to be part of Life Fulfilling Ventures Contest to help other Canadians get online with GoDaddy.”

Within a few weeks, he had secured a new speaking opportunity through his website.

To help inspire you, here are a few tips for getting your business online from the tech expert himself:

  • You can do it (seriously): By using simple tools, like GoDaddy Website Builder, you can get online fast. You’d be surprised how good it can look, and you’ll take pride in knowing you did it yourself.
  • Use your website to showcase your work: Create website copy with clear information. I go by the saying that less is more. Include a simple call to action to contact you and/or purchase a product or service.
  • We’re a visual culture: There’s no reason for your website to be super text heavy. Embrace photos and videos. Think multimedia!
  • Create content regularly: Whether it’s on your website or on social media, it’s important to constantly be part of the conversation. Always remember to link your social content back to your website, use it as a home base.

So many of us dream of taking our great ideas to the next level by starting a business and becoming our own boss. With these simple tips, you really can start to make those dreams a reality. From domains and hosting to creating your own website and online marketing and SEO, GoDaddy has tools to help  your business be up and running online in no time.
