Get Ready to Cheat on Your Diet with UNIBURGERWEEK

There have been weeks dedicated to food like poutine, burgers, and mac & cheese, but never anything like this.

Uniburger is dedicating a full five days to fancy burgers to, well, themselves – and it’s got us all excited that its cheat week again.

From now until March 15th, Montrealers will be able to relish the tastes of the city’s best chefs, in burger format. And they really aren’t messing around.

Chefs onboard include Derek Dammann (Maison Publique), Colin Perry (Dinette Triple Crown), Danny Smiles (Le Bremner), Emma Cardarelli (Nora Gray), Fabrizio Covone (Bottega Pizzeria), Lionel Piraux (Lio Traiteur/Private Chef) and Stephen Leslie (Le Sieur d’Iberville).

Like we said, this is some serious burger business.

Every day during UNIBURGERWEEK, a chef will kick off their own original interpretation of the famous Uniburger, using never-before-seen ingredients from outside of Uniburgers usual menu.

All proceeds from that day’s burger sales will be donated to the chefs designated charity. So we get to smother our faces with savory burgers AND do it for a great cause? Talk about a win-win situation.

Here is the UNIBURGERWEEK schedule. You can start drooling now…

WEDNESDAY MARCH 11th – Danny Smiles (Le Bremner) is bringing us the FILET-O-SMILES. The burger’s ingredients have yet to be released, but we’re sure it will be all smiles after we’re finished with it.

THURSDAY MARCH 12th – Emma Cardarelli (Nora Gray) is known for her delectable and authentic Italian cuisine over at Nora Gray. And her signature Uniburger will be just that – only with a twist. Her Meatball burger will contain tomato sauce braised veal and pork, Nora Gray pepperoncini, a slice of Mozzarella di Bufala, arugula, and charcoal grilled marinated onions.

FRIDAY MARCH 13th – Derek Dammann (Maison Publique) kills it every night at his corner street bistro. His take on the Uniburger is a pork burger that will contain a very flavourful smoky romesco and aioli sauce.

SATURDAY MARCH 14th – Lionel Piraux (Lio Trateur/Private Chef) probably has the most interesting/normal concept coming our way: A re-mastered Quebec classic. An all dressed cheeseburger with coleslaw, relish, and yellow mustard that’s all homemade. He will also pay homage to his Belgian roots by serving a side of twice fried (in beef tallow) real-deal Belgian frites.

SUNDAY MARCH 15th – Colin Perry (Dinette Triple Crown) brings us a little southern hospitality with his Uniburger concoction. A double pimiento cheeseburger with the Dinette’s homemade bread and butter pickles, burger sauce, hot sauce, caramelized onions, and fried pig ears.
