Free Sloan Concert at Echo Beach

Ontario Place, a Toronto landmark and one of the few places in the city that doesn’t feel like the city, is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. To pay homage to this milestone, Ontario Place has partnered with Live Nation Entertainment – the umbrella company that counts Ticketmaster as part of its roster – to bring Torontonians a free four-concert series at Echo Beach as part of the celebrations. The concerts close on August 5th with Sloan.

Echo Beach is Toronto’s first fully-licensed outdoor beach concert venue. It’s inaugural concert on June 3rd featured the electro-pop stylings of Robyn – you remember her, right? Echo Beach will undoubtedly become a favourite destination among Toronto’s young professionals for its prime location (just east of the Molson Amphitheatre on the East Island of Ontario Place) and its spectacular view of the downtown skyline serving up an amazing backdrop to some notable acts. We mentioned it was a beach, right?

Toronto-based and Halifax natives Sloan have been a staple on the Canadian music scene for nearly 20 years – hard to believe The Rest of My Life was released over 10 years into their chart career, eh? Their alternative rock style made a comeback earlier this year with the release of The Double Cross, their tenth studio album.
