Frank & Oak Opens in YYC Just in Time for Last Minute Holiday Shopping

Well-dressed gentlemen and the people who love them are in for a special Holiday surprise: Frank & Oak opened this weekend on 17th Avenue in Calgary.

The Montreal-based menswear company has been taking the internet by storm for the last two years, and has recently been opening up real-life retail locations in cities like Ottawa and Halifax, with a flagship store in Toronto.

Calgary is the final stop on their mystery tour that’s had them hosting surprise openings across the country. There was a quiet launch earlier in December, but this weekend was the official debut of their Frank & Oak Colour shop at 831 17th Avenue SW.

Occupying the space that was once Dick & Jane, the cozy old house makes for a home-like environment with a casual vibe. And to take the stress out of shopping, style advisors (not sales people) are there to help you out every step of the way.

“We’re excited to be in Calgary because there’s a growing creative scene and a lot of energy in the local community. I see Calgary men as particularly interested in exploring more adventurous and original clothing and lifestyle options,” says Ethan Song, one of the company’s two co-founders.

Though the store is currently opening as a temporary location for one year, Song hopes that it will be a place of collaboration and community for those creative and entrepreneurial spirits he’s found here in Calgary. That means you can expect plenty of style-focused social events over the coming months, which you know you’ll be able read about right here as soon as they’re announced.

So happy shopping men (and lovers of men) of Calgary.

You’re in good hands. And soon you’ll be in even better clothing.
