Food Dudes Offer Blank ‘Canvas’ with Stunning New Toronto Event Venue

Any event planner will tell you that a blank canvas is the key to making an event creative, unique, and personal.

Well now there’s a new venue in town that lets you do just that – and one that blends Toronto’s best in both food and design.

In a fusion of photo-worthy design and gourmet eats, Elte Market and The Food Dudes have launched their first venue partnership – a transformative event space.

Appropriately, it’s called Canvas.

The warehouse-like event space is located within the leading home furniture retailer Elte Market in the heart of the Castlefield Design District (1381 Castlefield Avenue).

And an event held here is definitely worth the trip outside of the city’s core.

Not only does the venue offer limitless ability to transform the space to accommodate any sort of event – from a fairytale wedding to a kick-ass, immersive product launch or a satellite restaurant – it can house up to 400 people. Guests are invited to curate their own experiences in the same way they’d design their living room.

This isn’t the first time the Food Dudes and Elte have teamed up. Andrew and Jamie Metrick of Elte and longtime friends Food Dudes partners Adrian Niman and Brent McClenahan have worked together on previous events at Elte Market, including the luxury furniture retailer’s grand opening last year.

Of course, The Food Dudes are definitely armed with experience when it comes to events, having dished up their signature creative gourmet goodness at hundreds of the city’s most prestigious happenings over the past 10 years (including high-profile celebrity and political events).

Not to mention, The Food Dudes-owned restaurants are currently among some of the hottest in the city (not that we have to tell you that).

Talking points about the new event space include textured walls created from hundreds of refurbished milk crates, a state-of-the-art lighting system, and curated furnishings, fixtures and accessories from Elte, Elte Market and Ginger’s. Two large garage doors open to unveil the kitchen area, where The Food Dudes work their magic, adding an element of surprise for food stations at events.

In addition to The Food Dudes, other preferred catering options include Kosher Dudes, Pantry, and Toben Food by Design.

Check it out for yourself – and then make it your own.
