First-Class Suits and Single Malt Scotch: This is How Shopping Was Meant to Be

When you think “refined gentleman,” you probably think crisp, stylish suit and a glass of scotch.

And you’d be right.

Now, you can find both things in one place after work at the Harry Rosen x Macallan pop-up whiskey lounge at the Harry Rosen flagship location at First Canadian Place.

That’s right, first-class suits and single malt in the same store.

Beginning Monday, November 16 and running through to Friday, November 20, The Macallan Lounge is back for a second year to offer some of the city’s most stylish gents the chance to indulge in The Macallan 1824 Series while they shop for the latest in men’s fashion.

The interactive experience offers an informative way to try The Macallan’s portfolio of quality scotches like the The Macallan Gold, The Macallan Amber, The Macallan Ruby, and The Macallan Sienna. As an added degree of exclusivity, this year, the lounge will also serve as the Canadian launch platform for The Macallan Rare Cask, the latest premium addition to The Macallan 1824 Series.

We had a chance to sample the 1824 Series at a media preview (yes, including a first taste of the coveted Rare Cask), and it was as smooth and easy to sip as you would imagine.

It’s like wearing a tuxedo…on your palate.

The premium Rare Cask was created as an ode to the beautiful, natural colour and complex flavour that The Macallan is known for. Part of its “special factor” comes from the liquid’s creation in first-fill, Spanish Sherry-seasoned oak casks, hand-selected from less than one per cent of the finest casks maturing at the distillery.

Of course, the scotch tasting is just half of it; guests will also have the chance to view the latest offerings at the Harry Rosen First Canadian Place location. Catering to the new generation of future Bay Street success stories, the location was recently revitalized and now features a younger, bolder look. The location now also carries custom-made suits from Amsterdam’s Munro Tailoring, along with a variety of new designer merchandise.

Naturally, we’re hosting a ‘Notable’ event to mark the occasion. On November 18th,  join 25 of the city’s most refined gentlemen to sip scotch and shop from the finest collection of clothes in the city. For a chance to attend, apply with the form below.

* An e-mail confirmation will be sent out morning of Tuesday November 17th, to those selected to attend.
