Finger Lickin’ Good: JoJo’s BBQ

Calgarians love to eat barbeque, and JoJo’s BBQ makes just that happen. As Calgary’s first Southern-style, low n’ slow smoked BBQ food truck, JoJo’s is worth the drive. Currently, the wheels are a converted 30 foot motor-home, which is set up daily Tuesdays through Saturdays in the parking lot of Barbecues Galore on Edmonton Trail (3505 Edmonton Trail NE).

From here, you’re invited to indulge in smoky, tender, real Southern BBQ. Go for the traditional rack of ribs (there are three size options), but be sure to have extra napkins on hand as you devour the tasty meat slathered in smoky sauce. Or consider trying one of the several sandwiches on the menu such as the smoked pulled pork or the aptly named sloppy JoJo. And no Southern meal is complete without the fixens, and JoJo’s BBQ is sure to please. Choose from options such as griddle mac ‘n cheese, corn fritters, or garlic fries.

For the young professionals who don’t have a lot of time at lunch, the Hollar and Honk program is perfect. Diners can call and place an order (24 hours’ notice is customary) and it will all be ready for pick up day of. You simply Honk when you get there and they bring the food right to you while you wait in your car.

So whether it’s just you zipping out of the office for a quick bite to eat or feeding the entire team, JoJo’s BBQ food truck is sure to become one of Calgary’s staples in the food service industry.
