Festive Markets in Vancouver

The Vancouver Christmas Market (650 Hamilton Street) is back to celebrate its fourth year at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre Plaza and will more than get you into the festive mood. It’s newly expanded list of vendors, food offerings and gift ideas will definitely help you chip away at that holiday list. Make your way down row after row of illuminated wooden huts with unique, handcrafted treats found at each stall. Grab a hot chocolate, cider and snack as you take in live musical performances from now until December 24th.

The 3rd Annual Strathcona Winter Craft Fair (601 Keefer Street) is set to take over the Strathcona Community Centre this weekend (Saturday, November 30th) for a full day of festive fun. Very much a community-based and driven event, this is definitely a spot to head to for some one-of-a-kind gift sourcing fun. Support the local economy and load up on handmade items, score baked goods and enjoy a day exploring this vibrant community. Proceeds will go to the Strathcona Preschool and Out of School Care Programs.  Admission is just $2.

Great Canadian Craft: Christmas Edition (17798 62nd Avenue) is a bit of a trek out of downtown, but totally worth it. There will be live entertainment, gift baskets up for grabs, food sampling and more to keep you occupied. Click here to score a sweet discount on tickets.

The Make It! Show (2901 East Hastings Street) is back for one weekend only starting November 28th through December 1st. Always a great pick for those wanting to support local artisans, score unique gifts and check out the latest in urban design trends while doing some charitable good. We love the fact that Make It! provides the perfect venue for more than 250 different crafters and artists alike. There is something for everyone on your holiday gift list – art, jewelry, home décor, fashion and accessories – the list goes on! Bonus: 100% of the proceeds raised from their noteworthy silent auction and coat check go to Variety and the Union Gospel Mission.  Now that’s the spirit!

Got Craft? Holiday Edition (1880 Triumph Street) is one of Vancouver’s largest independent craft fairs now heading into its 14th year (December 14-15). Always a sure way to nail down your gift-giving list, be sure to head to this holiday-themed community event that fosters the DIY crafting culture. Alongside handmade goods, tasty treats, live entertainment and workshops, there is swag to be had by early attendees (first 50 each day). Tickets are $3 at the door.
