Facebook is Starting to Roll Out a Live Streaming Feature for All Users

Periscope’s not going to be happy about this.

According to Mashable, Facebook is getting ready to roll out a live-streaming feature, which has been in the works for over a year. It will be aptly called “Live.”

The feature will appear in “update status” menu next to the check-in pin that allows you to share your location and essentially performs the same function as Periscope. Facebook users will be able to live stream from their mobile device or laptop camera and receive feedback through a comment section that loads in real-time. You can save the video and share it on your timeline when the live stream is finished.

Users will also have the option to subscribe to people or pages to receive notifications when a love broadcast is about to start.

As per usual, Facebook users in the U.S. will be the first to access Live, with the rest of the world jumping on board over the next few weeks. Those operating Android will be able to use the feature “soon.”
