With Stampede in full-effect, there is no shortage of parties, breakfasts and concerts to see this week. To help you stay on top of what to see and where to be seen, we’ve created a Notable calendar of events on the city’s social scene. We hope you’re taking naps on your lunch break.

Wednesday
This might be the busiest hump day you’ve had in a while. If you’re not attending the rodeo you might want to call in a few favours for tickets to the Round Up party (happening at Fort Calgary) where Calgary’s favourite party rockers, the Dudes, are going to be opening for Bryan Adams.

You can also catch the Sheepdogs at Cowboys. This Canadian group has been gaining major attention the past few years. Since gracing the Rolling Stones magazine cover, they’ve played performances at SXSW, Coachella and Bonaroo, and Patrick Carney of the Black Keys produced their last album.

If you’re looking for less of a cowboy type event, the Ship and Anchor is hosting their annual Hank and Patsy Party and the midnight pancake breakfast is definitely worth stopping by. This is the bar for those of you who like more alt-country and rockabilly bands like Eve Hell and the Razors.

Finally, Ranchmen’s is also hosting their Get Your Shine On Party. At 9pm guests will have a chance to sample some Palmetto Moonshine, one of the first legal moonshines available on the market.

Thursday
After a hectic Wednesday, the tents might be a good alternative on Thursday. You have lots to choose from, but the Wildhorse Saloon is probably one of the better tents to party in this week.

And, of course, no Stampede would be complete without a Shania Twain show. This country superstar will be playing her second performance at the Scotiabank Saddledome and you can still find tickets online.

Friday
If you’re still going strong by Friday evening, the Oxford Stomp is taking place at Fort Calgary with performances from Our Lady Peace, Rob Thomas and Lifehouse. You can join the Oxford Stomp After Party at The Roadhouse following the festivities at Fort Calgary but you might want to save your energy for the last big night of Stampede.

Saturday
If you’re not heading to the grounds or the tents for the last big hurrah, then we’d recommend Ranchmen’s. On July 12th, the Calgary Firefighters are throwing their Retro Stampede Party with all proceeds going to charity. This is your chance to do a good deed while being surrounded by a group of firemen. It’s a win-win.
