Event Recap: VINOS Wine and Film Festival

Last Friday we grabbed our best cocktail attire and loaded up the car before heading out of the city for a weekend-long celebration of wine, film and fun in sunny Osoyoos. Notable destination: The 3rd Annual VINOS Wine and Film Festival.

Though the weather wasn’t so predictable, we knew we’d be guaranteed a great time at the various events, parties and tastings set to take place throughout the weekend – as our photo gallery captured, we weren’t disappointed!

Post video-screening (and just in time for our arrival after a 4 hour drive); we headed to join the crowd gathered at Spirit Ridge Resort to take in a sampling of fine BC wines expertly-paired with delectable culinary creations courtesy of top-notch local chefs. Post snacking, party-goers took to the dance floor to unleash after a long week and got geared up for the following day’s events.

On  Saturday, we headed out to partake in the 5th Annual Nota Bene Release Party situated at the Black Hills Winery Vineyards. En route, we marvelled at the area’s stunning scenery and checked out the new Black Hills Wine Experience Centre (now open to the public) – a stunning spot we’re sure will be a must-do this summer.

The Release Party provided another fantastic opportunity to mingle with a great crowd amidst the vineyard backdrop. We tasted fantastic food while sampling the latest wines courtesy of Black Hills, including their sought-after Note Bene Bordeaux-style blend. Live acrobatic performances, music and the unveiling of artist Jason Gogo’s final pieces created especially for the event added to the mix. The event raised nearly $11,000 for Children’s Charities and the BC Hospitality Foundation.
