Event Recap: Lazy Gourmet Summer Menu Launch

Though the unseasonably warm sunshine created an atmosphere that felt decidedly summery, the theme of the evening was “Spring” as The Lazy Gourmet hosted clients and media for an exclusive sampling of their newest menu.

As one of the city’s most sought-after catering companies, they’re known for delivering an elevated culinary experience to events ranging from an intimate private dinner for six to corporate gatherings for thousands. They delivered this signature service to the 100 guests who were invited to sample and sip their inventive new creations.

The night’s festivities were held on the 8th floor outdoor space of LEVEL perched above Yaletown. This hidden gem of a patio was the perfect setting for guests to mingle in the sun after being welcomed with a glass of bubbly by Kevin Mazzone, The Lazy Gourmet’s General Manager.

Bartenders were shaking up signature cocktails to help guests cool down; a combination of strawberry, basil, vodka and lemonade made the perfect refreshment.

Tucked out of sight, chefs worked behind the scenes to keep an ever-flowing supply of delicious hors d’oeuvres circling. Crowd favourites were the cauliflower sliders with caramelized onions and chipotle mayo, cornmeal and cayenne crusted chicken with potato mousse on maple brioche waffles, and prosciutto crostinis with frisee salad and smoked tomato confit.

A crowd could always be found circled around the guacamole bar where chefs made magic from a mountain of avocados. In the shade, mason jars were beautifully laid out and filled with individual portions of pie in your choice of apple, lemon meringue, or coconut cream.
