Event Recap: Know Show Vancouver

Arriving before the actual show time was set to begin gave us a chance to check out plenty of on-trend goods and peruse a seemingly endless array of major and emerging vendors while snapping photos of looks we think young professionals will love.

Arriving on the early side also meant we had the opportunity to converse with some of the reps, trendsetters and designers on hand, many of whom are also young entrepreneurs themselves. It’s one of the best parts of the Know Show, as it offers great insight into how so many young people influence brand development and ideas in design; it always leaves us feeling utterly inspired (if not feeling fashionably in the loop).

After stopping by to grab a chilled treat courtesy of Red Bull and checking out the pop-up bar (with DJ in full swing), it was time to get the show (called ‘Takes One to Know One’) started.

Taking place at The Quiksilver Lounge, it certainly wasn’t your traditional runway – rather, organizers had set up the catwalk like a giant sandbox complete with 50s-style lounge chairs arranged around the perimeter where we were invited to grab a seat.

Models casually circulated the makeshift beach scene, showcasing the latest trends in swimwear as we sipped our cocktails infused with a sense of summer. We spotted plenty of slinky, colourful cover-ups, bright and bold cut-outs, 50s-style glamour prints and plenty of other playful pieces perfect for lazy summer days.
