Event Recap: Klaus’ Haus Party

On Friday, May 2nd, Klaus Nienkamper II brought Moooi’s Co-Founder and Artistic Director, Marcel Wanders, to Canada for the first time in ten years in a bash that kicked of the summer party circuit in signature style. The exclusive Canadian retailer of Moooi furniture, Klaus invited the city’s top design tastemakers and celebs to his showroom to meet Marcel and preview the latest Moooi products recently unveiled in Milan.

The multi-tiered four-floor showroom of the iconic Canadian retailer was filled with some of the city’s most stylish young professionals (YPs) and featured a North American debut of Moooi’s newest 2013 products, never-before-seen Studio Job, larger than life, a religious iconography-inspired art wall covering, and well-known Toronto artist Thrush Holmes’ latest neon artwork.

The guests (all 1000 of them) enjoyed delicious eats by Jamie Kennedy and the sounds of special guest DJ Brendan Fallis, who was in town from New York City.

Klaus’ Haus Party marks a new annual design celebration.  Klaus’ eponymous Toronto store is Canada’s longest running contemporary design showroom and continually features the best of contemporary design.

The party sets the stage for the North American debut of the brand’s latest lighting and furniture designs. Klaus by Nienkamper will unveil an installation of Moooi products launched at this year’s Salone del Mobile in its King Street East windows.
