We made our way to the lower lounge within Vancouver’s Shangri-La Hotel and were promptly greeted by the friendly PR team before being ushered inside. After nabbing a complimentary cocktail and light bite (loved the tuna sashimi), we squeezed in a little networking of our own before the presentation started.
Post-mingling (and after grabbing a few photos to share), we plunked down next to the ladies behind popular lifestyle and beauty sites such as Van City Pretty and BeautyBuzz411. Our ensuing conversation was indeed a lively one that ranged from trend spotting to challenges encountered in the blogosphere and how to build a strong following through compelling content… something we at Notable can very much appreciate.
Before long, Alain was introduced to the group of about 20 or so invited media guests, and set forth chatting about his background, the world of John Frieda and their reinvented Luxurious Volume Collection.
He took us through several model demos, all the while encouraging discussion, and bantered back and forth keeping us entertained while he worked his magic.
Upon wrapping up his presentation, the soiree continued and we mingled with a few other noteworthy writers from around the city – comparing notes and our own inside scoops on upcoming events and openings on the radar…
Being a Monday night, we ducked out a bit early as work awaited, but not before being handed a sweet little bit of swag courtesy of John Frieda.
