Event Recap: Guys’ Night Out at Hudson’s Bay Co.

Perched on the sixth floor of the Hudson’s Bay building on West Georgia Street is a 75,000-square foot menswear department. Even though the space has been open for over a year, it still feels like a hidden gem tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the downtown shopping district. Thanks to the brand’s recent revitalization, both the space and the collections boast an attractive contemporary style. The first Guys’ Night Out event was held last October to celebrate the department’s opening, and the highly anticipated event was back this year to kick off the fall season.

Shopping was not the only thing on the agenda for the evening. Guests were kept busy at every turn, starting with a scavenger hunt of creative cocktails.

All four corners of the floor were occupied by a different libation, including a scotch tasting bar, the CK Chiller (ginger beer and dark rum) and an impressive display of Peroni.Servers roamed the floor from Culinary Capers with delicious appetizers like mini pulled pork sandwiches and cigar-shaped pastries.

Next on the agenda was a stop at the Dockers quick-change booth. Gentlemen were challenged to race as quickly as they could into a pair of Alpha Khakis. The top 10 fastest got to go home with a free pair.

Keeping a friendly competitive spirit alive, Levi’s premiered their Commuter jean with a bicycle-powered video screen, offering a free pair to the top 10 fastest riders.

Those who prefer a game of chance were invited to play one of the many casino-style challenges.
