Event Recap: Calgary motionball 2014 Launch Party

The Calgary motionball 2014 Launch Party was held at National’s Bourbon Room last week as supporters who braved the cold to come out for the evening were treated to bubbly in the ultra-hip lounge while organizers from the event shared a few details on things to come with motionball this year.

For those of you who aren’t familiar with the motional organization, the annual Gala is held across Canada to raise funds for the Special Olympics. This gala not only raises money for a very important cause, it also raises awareness about an exceptional group of people. This charitable affair is something that should be on every young professional’s agenda, giving you a chance to enjoy a night of fun while making dreams come true.

The Gala will begin at 7:30pm on February 28th, at Flames Central, with snacks and cocktails, providing young professionals with the opportunity to sip, nosh and network. Following the kickoff to the evening, the crowd will have the opportunity to rub elbows with local celebrities and athletes while having the chance to bid on silent auction items. Entertainment will include Skratch Bastid, DJ Rhyno and dancing by ILLFX. This year the theme is ‘Brighter’, and attendees are encouraged to show up dressed to the nines in bright and flashy colours.

If you can’t make the Gala, there will also be a sports marathon held in June. Every team will have one athlete from the Special Olympics join them as they participate in a variety of challenges including beach volleyball, soccer and basketball. All proceeds raised from the event will be going towards the Special Olympics foundation.

We suggest getting your tickets ASAP as this event will definitely sell out.
