Event Recap: An Intimate Concert With John Legend

Earlier this month, the Israel Cancer Research Fund (ICRF)’s Montreal Chapter held its 37th annual Gala at Place Des Arts, which featured a two-hour intimate concert by nine-time Grammy Award-winning artist, current heart throb, and chart-topper John Legend.

Hosted by Virgin Radio’s Freeway Frank and Natasha Gargiulo, over 1400 people attended the show to witness the magic that ICRF brings.

This year, the ICRF Community Fellowship Honourary Recipient Award was presented to Michal and Renata Hornstein, whose philanthropic legacy was beautifully summarized by Dr. Walter Gotlieb, a member of the organization’s Scientific Advisory Board.

The event not only allowed notable guests to experience John Legend’s beautiful vocals in the most intimate way possible, some even had the chance to sit on stage with him during his show. The most notable part, of course, was that the evening raised over $840,000 for cancer research.

“I am humbled by the team around me, in my committee, who helped put this night and effort together,” expressed Mr. Bernstein, Gala Chair (and incoming ICRF President). “I am lucky to have the brightest and most amazing team.”

John Legend also had a personal reason to participate with the ICRF, sharing that he had cancer survivors in his own family and continues to raise money for a cure that’s so important to him.

If you didn’t have a chance to attend this year’s wonderful gala, you can expect a guest of just as notable star power next year.

Notable was honored to be a media sponsor for this wonderful cause.
