Elevator Pitch: Describe your business in a nutshell.
MRS. Bridal hopes to provide a great experience and wide selection of bridal gowns and accessories. Our boutique is set up so that each bride may enjoy an exclusive shopping experience while accompanied by her nearest and dearest. Our main floor is open to the public and anyone is able to come in to find amazing jewellery or underpinnings for any special occasion. The top two floors are appointment-only and also features our showroom of over 70 gowns.

Why did you start your business, what was the inspiration?
As longtime friends, we conceived the idea of MRS. Bridal while we were planning our own weddings last year. After struggling to find a unique dress at an affordable price, we decided to create our own destination for brides-to-be with designers that were not carried anywhere else in Canada.

What is the best part of what you do on a day-to-day basis? The most challenging part?
The best part of our job is helping a bride find the dress of her dreams, which can also be the most challenging part.

Where do you see your business going in 5 years?
In 5 years we would love to open a second location in Canada and expand our services.

What does success look like to you?
Success for us is providing every bride who walks through the door with the best experience possible regardless of whether or not they leave with a dress.

What is the most memorable milestone in your career?
The most memorable milestone was our first day of appointments!

Do you have any advice for other young professionals?
Don’t be afraid to go after your dream even if it means leaving a stable environment. More likely than not, you will persevere.

What is Notable to you?
All of the young female entrepreneurs we have met and collaborated with while starting up our business.

Blackberry, iPhone, Android, or Other?
Kelly: Blackberry

Michelle: iPhone, but switching back to a Blackberry. (I might be a first!)

How do you keep active, energetic, and vibrant?
M: For me, it’s so important to find ‘the perfect balance’. Spending time with my family and friends, going for runs, getting as much sleep as possible, and eating right (most of the time) keeps me pretty energetic.

K: In addition to eating healthy and exercising on a regular basis, it is extremely important to surround myself with my close family and friends who challenge and inspire me to be the very best I can be.
