Going to the mall doesn’t exactly elicit excitement in most people, but we’ve found a few very good reasons to venture to the Chinook Centre starting this month. Double Zero Pizza (751 4 St SW; (403) 265-9559
(403) 265-9559) opened its doors on April 1st and the new restaurant is bright, modern and spacious with the top floor serving as the ristorante and the main level osteria serving as more of a lounge.
Besides serving fantastic food, here are four reasons why you should be excited about the new Double Zero:
Date Night
Generally speaking, dates at the mall shouldn’t really be a thing after junior high school, but this is the exception. If you’re planning to throw a few strikes at the Chinook Bowladrome or catch a flick at the movie theatre, then Double Zero is the perfect place to stop for dinner first. You and your sweetheart can share an antipasto platter or enjoy one of the many delicious Neapolitan pizzas on the menu.
Happy Hour
Every Monday to Friday From 3pm to 5pm, you can enjoy happy hour with $5 house wine, bubbles, bottled and draught beer and bar snacks. Next time you tire of shopping before the rest of your party you can drop the shopping bags early to enjoy a cold one. This seems like a much more appealing idea than waiting at one of the tables in the dreaded food court.
Gluten-Free Options
That’s right. If you have certain dietary restrictions, there are lots of options for you here including several delicious salads and, best of all, you can order all your favourite pizzas with gluten-free crust.
The Shaft
If you need something to wake you up after waiting in long lines or wading through crowds, then you really should think about ordering the Shaft. Made with Kahlua, espresso and skimmed milk, one of these will restore mental alertness and give you the energy to shop.
